2014-2017
CADENZA was originally a three channel video animation in which a still photograph of an explanted heart was reanimated to three different beats. The contrasting rhythms and unnatural appearance of the three hearts speaks of both the fragility and the endurance of the human body. The work was remade in 2017 as a single channel installation with audio (edited fragments of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. 37sec loop).
